Michael O’Brien joined Investcorp in 2007 and currently serves as the Global Co-Head of Real Assets, one of Investcorp’s four global business verticals with assets under management of approximately $15 billion. In his role Mike, alongside Co-Head Herbert Myers, oversees all aspects of Investcorp’s four global real estate investment platforms, as well as Investcorp’s global infrastructure lines of business. Previously, at Investcorp, Mike was the co-head of the US real estate line of business and prior to that, he served as Head of US Real Estate Asset Management. Mike is a member of the investment committee for all global real estate investments, as well as infrastructure investments. During his long tenure at Investcorp, Mike has been involved in overseeing a platform that has deployed equity in real estate transactions totaling nearly $20 billion in gross asset value, establishing itself as a top 5 cross-border investor in US real estate.

Prior to joining Investcorp, Mike was a Director with ING Clarion Partners in its New York office since 1995. He worked on ING’s $200M development fund, was an Assistant Portfolio Manager for several separate account clients and ran its CMBS Special Servicing group. Previously, Mike was at Reichmann International/Quantum Realty Fund and Equitable Real Estate Investment Management.

Mike currently serves on the Board of Directors of AFIRE (Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate). He holds a BS in Business Administration with a major in Finance from Georgetown University.
